When it comes to beauty products, I am extremely picky about what I use. I think my product development experience makes me particularly anal about understanding the chemistry behind formulas and validating product claims before using them. So you can just imagine how skeptical I was when I heard Drew Barrymore had a new beauty line, Flower Beauty. Being a dark skinned girl, I have gotten so use to the fact that there aren’t many options for us chocolate girls when it comes to makeup. And I certainly did not think Drew Barrymore’s line would be any exception, assuming it was just another makeup line catering only to white girls. Truth be told, I probably would never have tried it out, if I didn’t get a freebie Flower Kiss Stick High-Shine Lip Color in goodie bag; and boy was I glad I did. Just one swipe of the Flower Kiss Stick High-Shine Lip Color in Rose Bud on my lips, and I was sold.
For starters, I love how incredibly pigmented this lipstick is. The formula feels luxurious and moisturizing with intense color that suits my dark skinned very nicely. Rose Bud is a cool red tone color that glides on so smoothly with very rich color payoff. The philosophy behind Flower Beauty brand is about bringing high end quality products to the masses. Unlike most companies that spend heavily on advertising and PR, Flower Beauty spends majority of its funds creating high quality formulas and packaging. The best part? The line is exclusively sold at Walmart with a single lipstick selling for $6.98. Genius business model right? After my great experience with Flower Kiss Stick High-Shine Lip Color in Rose Bud, I must say, I am now a believer in the power of Flower Beauty.
